Wildcat Point (9,445 ft.)

Named by USGS in 1898

"Origin unknown, but possibly named by the USGS during the 1898-99 survey for the Mt. Lyell 30' map; it is on the first edition, 1901. The point, which overlooks the Tuolumne River at LeConte Falls, may be the feature referred to as 'Tuolumne El Capitan' by Jennie Price in 1897. (SCB 2, no. 3, Jan. 1898: 176.)"
