Not so much of a hike or climb, this one was a bikeride the whole way. Three of us
started on the north end of the State Park, just outside Incline Village, heading up
some steep dirt roads in search of the Flume Trail. We found it without incident, and
enjoyed one of the best single tracks available around the Tahoe area. It was as
scenic as advertised, with swell views of the lake and the Sierra Crest on the far
side. I talked Terry and Mike into joining me for an extra ride up to Snow Valley Peak.
The summit is rather rounded, but still had good views into Carson Valley to the east
as well as of the whole Tahoe Basin. There was still a good deal of snow about (we
had even a few places to cross snow on the Flume Trail) but nothing that hindered us
for very long. The biggest drag was the ride back north along the very busy
highway that circles the lake. Too much traffic!
